Are You In "The Complicated Years"?
I don’t think everyone needs a financial planner all of the time.
If you are early or mid-career, have good mentors and examples, and a modest amount of discipline, it is certainly possible to set yourself on a path for financial security.
Then there are the complicated years.
Complicated means that your financial goals and challenges are bigger than your knowledge and tools. The situation demands more. In that moment, it is helpful to work with a professional that has the tools, knowledge and experience to help guide and teach you with a financial plan.
Complicated can look like:
You are starting out in your career and have little insight or role models on financial matters. You’re a little intimidated and your parents were a mess financially.
You are 40+, want to retire (or have life flexibility) in your early 60’s, want your kids to go to a great college, want peace of mind. You have home equity and some 401k/IRA savings but aren’t sure if it is enough or how to best use it. Oh, and you worry about your aging parents.
You have intermittent, widely fluctuating income or atypical earning patterns. A professional athlete, for instance. Or a tech exec with a lucrative exit and a lot of years left to plan your life.
You have emerged from a divorce or perhaps received an inheritance and want to make the most of this moment. You want to do it right.
When there is a lot going on, it’s complicated. So…why work with me to navigate these complicated years?
As an MBA with years of additional training in personal financial planning, I have the knowledge to help you.
I don’t sell commissioned-based products or charge assets management fees, allowing you to receive advice with minimal conflict.
As an independent business owner, I have the freedom to pick the very best tools to review your situation and model your options. I am frequently evaluating and upgrading my “tech stack”. I don’t have to use what “corporate” tells me to.
As an experienced teacher, my goal is to develop and present a plan that you understand and own as it is implemented. Knowledge, comfort and a plan of action is the goal.
I make it fun. My clients laugh...sometimes a lot!
