A little bit about me

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and learn a bit more about my history and my approach. Here are a few quick bullet points on who I am:

  • I have an MBA from UCLA and have worked with business  clients from some of the largest and most demanding corporations in the world.

  • I was a Jeopardy contestant (one and done, unfortunately).

  • Sadly, both of my parents have passed away, which means that I have dealt with a myriad of financial and emotional life issues that come with that passing.

  • I am married, with two college-educated sons.

  • I am both a quant and someone who is endlessly curious about people.

As well, I am a career changer and a contrarian. Specifically:

  • I don’t think everyone needs a financial planner or investment manager all of the time

  • I do think that there are times where it is really critical to have financial planner. Some people need one  early in their adult life and most everyone can benefit from help during what I call “The Complicated Years”

  • I do think that you should pick a financial advisor that has minimal conflicts of interest.

  • I don’t think you should necessarily work with your friend from high school that now works for Northwest Mutual without at least reviewing other options.

  • I think that a great financial advisor works like a teacher, not like a salesperson.

Because of this experience and orientation, my work is known for:

  • Empathy informed by life experience

  • An educational approach that builds confident and relaxed clients.

  • Independence in how I approach my business and my clients.

  • A focus on using the best tools and technology to provide insight to my clients.
